Double Exposure Portrait Manipulation

Designer: Dan Mountford

This series of person creations by Dan Mountford marries photography and design in a subtle and balanced way. The images were created ‘in camera’ whiled the change in tones, blemishes and vector additions were all part of minimal post work production. The resulting compositions prove to be beautiful works of art.

Ortografika Design

Designer: Ortografika

The works of Ortografika stem from an ambitious team of creatives out of Poland. They’re members of the Stowarzyszenie Twórców Grafiki Użytkowej, Creators of Used Graphics Association, which unites the best designers and studios from all over Poland. Matjaz Cuk Visual Identity

Designer: Matjaz Cuk

Matjaz Cuk had to rethink the design of stationery for this project. Plans of 9 different items are printed on a single sheet. Only two inks were used and only one kind of paper – one with excellent environmental credentials from Gmund. It’s a new visual identity and it not only goods good, but does good…for the environment and for the studio. From this single sheet of paper, one can achieve two small folders, a large folder, seven CD packages, five medium cards and a bookmark, two small notebook covers and six small cards. The variable information are printed on removable stickers. And best of all, everything can be recycled.

Underbau’s Plan A+D

Designer: Underbau

Spanish design agency Underbau has created a really cool looking, comprehensive planner promoting 100 steps to a more active, healthy lifestyle. Filled with information, statistics and data, and descriptive processes, this guide is not only extremely informative, but quite useful in supporting the benefits of an active lifestyle. On top of its obvious message, its design is quite beautiful. Sticking to a limited color palette, as well as traditional type choices, is a simple way to create effective and evocative information. The best part, however, is a diecut that you’ll see forms the ‘addition’ reference in the products name.

Numbers to Be Worn

Designer: Silva/Bradshaw

It takes a lot for me to be really intrigued by a piece of jewelry that doesn’t incorporate an exotic or rare material, however ‘Numbers’ is a series based upon the manipulation of simple geometric shapes…and I love geometry. Geometric shapes are stretched, skewed and distorted, resulting in elegant forms. The shapes are not only evocative, but are even more appealing when utilized as accents to skin tone and apparel. They’re available in finishes ranging from Gold Vermeil to Stainless Steel. Though I won’t be purchasing any pieces anytime soon, I suggest those who are interested go here.
