Kalakari Display

Designer: Beth Shirrell

This display font by Beth Shirrell was created in an attempt to capture and reflect the ornate culture of India. Indian architecture, henna painting and Hindu iconography are among some of the strongest influences in this display. The word ‘kalakari’ translates to ornamentation in English.

& Smith

Designer: & Smith

& Smith is a relatively small design studio that encompasses identity, branding, web, book and packaging design. Their work is quite engaging, each piece boasting an intimate vibe with its viewer. Maybe it’s because they’re a small studio…or maybe it’s because a few of them are ex-Pentagrammers ;) .

Trisec

Designer: Sorin Bechira & Stefan Romanu

Bechira and Romanu have showcased a splendid concern for detail in these typographic experiments. Both simple and complex, these solutions are prime examples of the distorting possibilities of the alphabet and our ability to visually recognize form and meaning.

The Ampersand

Designer: Scott Marc Berry

This campaign is designed to encourage the use of the ampersand over the three character word ‘and’. The campaign is titled ‘Why use and when you can use &.’ This was applied to a variety of products that were handed out as promotion for the form of the ampersand and it’s many forms within typography.

Google Apps Journey

Designer: Nate Whitson

This motion graphic piece produced by Nate Whitson is an expansive voyage through the skyscape of enterprise cloud computing with the almighty Google! It’s fun, easy to understand and well rendered.
