Corrugated Cardboard Creativity

Designer: Mark Langan

After being made redundant from a job in the transportation industry in 2004, Ohio-based Mark Langan decided to give art a go. He proceeded to create pieces from ripped apart boxes and now is a master at corrugated cardboard.

Each one of Langan’s cardboard pieces takes between 80 and 100 hours to complete and each one is made completely of recycled material. Companies such as Kellogg have begun commissioning Langan to create works out of their own recycled products.

Mixed Emotions Packaging

Designer: José Luis García Eguiguren

Spanish student José Luis García Eguiguren has created a packaging to sell emotions through a product. Each is a mix between a concoction and vodka. Each concoction is an emotion such as love, happiness or fear. Each changes your attitude according to your preference. The spiral structure forms two straws that invite the consumer to visualize how the liquids combine as they drink.

Two tiny mecanisms outline the straws to bottom of the container, allowing air to enter and hence permitting the customer to absorb the liquid. The cap provides an air-tight seal, thus enclosing all openings. While the front panel invites the consumer to drink, the back panel depicts phrases to illustrate the type of experience the customer will encounter. It’s quite a beautiful design!

Splinter Typography

Designer: Arsland Shahid

Splinter is a 3D typeface created by Arslan Shahid. It is made from triangular pieces of cut up cardboard. It was created with the notion of war, taken from the perspective of the mood and atmosphere it creates in areas of conflict. You can see the rest of the letters.
