Icebear

Designer: Sruli Recht
Originally commissioned for Valgeir Sigurðsson Greenhouse in Iceland, Icebear is a limited edition fur made from pelt scraps in 10 shades on arctic white. In addition there are also special variations in black, brown and albino. The entire fur is made from sheepskin scraps, 15 to be exact – normally tossed out. They’re arranged and sewn together to look like a butchers diagrammatic poster identifying different cuts of meat. The product plays with this idea of waste sold as luxury products where the teddy bear appearance wipes the naive comical portrayal of a polar-bear rug, the decorative paragon of man over beast. Look out for it soon packed and ready to ship around the world.

Heated Metal

Designer: Kayleigh Metcalf
Housing copper piping, the main body is formed from 5mm aluminum sheets pressed to hold the copper pipe to work securely. The top reactive section made from Bimetal sheets react and flex outwards when heat is exerted from the radiatorr. Made from solid aluminum to give weight and stability, the base remains also a focal point of the design. Having undergone a two stage painting process to give a hardwearing high gloss finish, the radiator and color details catch the light and reflects the surrounding immaculately.

Motion

I see motion. What do you see?

Pilo Pilo

Designer: Sae Shigeto & Ming Lo
Pilo Pilo is a ring cushion to be worn on your hand in attempt to allow more comfort in resting your head on your hand. My cup idea of comfort? Not exactly, but regardless, it’s an interesting idea…
